Northmill Bank partners with Mamma United

Northmill Bank is partnering with the non-profit organisation Mamma United as part of the bank's vision to improve people's financial lives.
Press Release, June 10, 2026
The partnership is centered on the Mamma United Trygg initiative, which provides mothers with a pathway into the labour market while helping to create a safer environment for children and young people in their local communities.
Northmill Bank is the first bank to partner with Mamma United in the Mamma United Trygg initiative. During the summer months, this initiative employs mothers to distribute light meals to children, while increasing the presence of trusted adults in public spaces. Over time, the bank also aims to share its expertise in financial literacy, business, and entrepreneurship within the organisation's educational programmes.
"For us, this is about much more than a traditional sustainability initiative, it is about people. We know that financial security and social well-being go hand in hand, something that is clearly reflected in Mamma United's work. Supporting an initiative that provides mothers with meaningful employment while helping children enjoy a safer summer is of great importance to us. We also look forward to sharing our knowledge in finance and entrepreneurship in the future," says Julie Chatterjee, CEO of Northmill Bank.
Mamma United works to educate, equip, and motivate mothers living in socioeconomically vulnerable areas to improve their own and their children's life circumstances. Today, the organisation operates in 22 areas across 15 municipalities. By empowering mothers, Mamma United contributes to a more sustainable and inclusive society.
Through this partnership, Northmill Bank supports the Mamma United Trygg initiative, where mothers who have previously participated in the organisation's programmes are employed to provide a visible adult presence in public spaces by distributing light meals to children during the summer holidays. In 2025, the initiative distributed over 25,000 light meals and employed 22 mothers. Nine local initiatives are planned for the summer of 2026, with Northmill backing the distribution of light meals three days a week for ten weeks in Fisksätra and Jordbro.
