Sweden wants to increase country's support for fintech
Together with Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova, the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) will investigate how it best can provide support and advice for fintech companies in their effort to develop new financial services, reports Finansliv.se.
The initiative is put forward as part of the government’s efforts to further strengthen Swedish competitiveness and innovation.
”We want to make it easier for new players to start, grow and operate within the Fintech sector”, says Per Bolund, Minister for Financial Markets, in a statement.
Results will be presented in a report at the latest by 1 December 2017.
As Northmill reported earlier, the Swedish government in general has a positive view of the development in the fintech sector and thus welcomed the formation of Swefintech, an industry organization for the Swedish fintech companies.
